And MIT tomorrow! Well, day after early morning for us. Don’t have high hopes but can’t help but wonder. :P

I didn’t participate, no, but I did watch. Was standing next Chad le Clos’ Dad when he won the 200 fly he was like ‘unbelievable, unbelievable! He’s not a man, he’s a lion!’ Sick guy.

hey all.
how’re the decisions coming along?

@French
Il est mon deuxieme langue, mais je l’ai appris et le parle plus comme mon langue courrant. Je ne sais pas beaucoup de mots mais assez

Yeah well fears are a little overdone really, but I just want a healthy social scene, I mean drinking once a week rather than everyday as I would in a frat. :P

@Himan
I don’t think you necessarily drink every day in frats but hey, it depends on the frat and yourself :)

Lol I meant frats*
kill me autocorrect :|

Yea true, and many frats are also quite prestigious and help you make valuable corporate connections. Most of the fortune 500 CEOs were part of frats, albeit prestigious ones.

As I’ve said before, my priorities

—> Admission Decision
—> Financial Aid
—> Thinking about college life! :D

All the best MIT peeps!! At what time are the results released??

I guess financial aid ties down with the decision, so they both r equally important.

@Rishav
haha, you have said that quite a lot of times though mostly to me directly :P

They get released 5pm thursday ET… so Friday morning :P

All the best tomorrow(or Friday morning) MIT and UChicago guys!! Keeping my fingers crossed that you all will hear good news, especially those applying for finaid

@Rishav … Lol. I think my priorities are in the same order as yours. However, I think the college life will factor in my decisions (if I have a good many choices that is).

@Everyone … How did you learn about the different feels of the campuses? Through your interviews? Or did you just read the sites (like CC and others)?

@Carib
Most of them I found out by reading about them on CC, blogs and their sites. Princeton I found out mostly through a visit and my sister and her friends’ recounts.

you?

Washington University gave me $7200 as need based aid.
oops I need a minimum of 50% of the total cost.
UT Austin may give some thing more as a turing scholar CS.
waiting for Ivys.

@caribgurl @raith You should contact your interviewers again after we get accepted somewhere. They usually put you through to someone on campus or tell you more about campus themselves. Alternately, you can request this at the admissions office.

@Krishna
Good luck hey, I hope the Ivy’s give you the FA you need.

@Himan
I only got interviewed by Princeton and Stevens… Stevens is last resort (kinda) and Princeton I already have a brilliant idea of what it is like. Dartmouth I have a friend at, UPenn one of my friend’s sisters was at, MIT my sister’s friend’s brother is at xP I have decent ideas of these unis so far. Princeton and Dartmouth just feel like the best fits for my personality I think :D

^ you have sooo many friends at good colleges!
i used to stalk people and request for help (on fb).
surprisingly, each of them (indians) were so helpful throughout the process.

i got into a college which is worth attending and since i needed a lot of financial aid, they gave me approx 85% so. i have a place to go to this fall…

but DARTMOUTH <3 (AND OTHER IVIES + TOP 4 LACs)

@Rew
Well I only have two friends at top colleges, the rest are through friends of mine or friends of friends
They also seem pretty happy with helping out and talking, they all seem to be at universities they feel are a great fit for them and making it work for them :D

Same as me then, there is a bit of relief when you have at least one acceptance :P

Dartmouth is still a bit of a dream, but I do think that I am a Princeton Die hard haha

@raith Well that’s great for you then! At this stage, I don’t think we can be picky about ‘fits’ with such thin admission rates, but well, hope for the best! :P

yale is that to me. but well. can only hope
these college decisions makes an atheist pray to god 24/7!

its funny of them ‘accepted-to-great-schools’ people to say that <insert you="" dream="" school’s="" name=""> is not the end of the life.
weirdly enough, to me it shall be. i worked super hard since ages to get into my dream school. shall be completely shattered to know i’ve been rejected >_></insert>
