dartmouth personality

Would you say that Dartmouth looks for a certain personality traits in its students (besides the obvious ones, intelligent, curious, et ceterae)? If so what traits do they emphasize (because they seem to be interested in the personality of the students hence the peer recommendation)?

If Dartmouth has a different approach to picking students than other colleges I haven't heard of it. The peer rec, from what I know, is primarily to confirm what the college has gathered from other parts of the app. Very rarely (if ever) does it make or break an application. I have heard of people getting in without even submitting one.

I agree. Dartmouth like most schools is looking for intellectual hard working students. If you are from a state that is not highly populated or doesn't send a lot of students to Dartmouth you stand a much better shot. It is much more competitive for kids from Mass and New England states to get in.

Are they looking for hard-working or naturally talented students?

Dartmouth likes students who have a strong academic profile (SAT score is important), who will add to the diversity of the campus. This might mean ethnically, culturally (i.e. a great pianist), or geographically (a kid from montana).

i would say, form my experience:
pink hair
like moonbounces
procrastinates
and is willing to wear a gorilla suit

you guys fit those?
juuust kidding :-)
