Dartmouth Regular Decision Fall 2022 Admissions

It’s getting real - checklists completely gone and a notice on the portal that decisions will be released on 3/31.

No I don’t think they don’t. They don’t track demonstrated interest

I actually talked to the director of my fly-in about whether or not Dartmouth knows about students who did fly-ins. He said that students who do the fly-in get a “VIP” label on their application.

I know Dartmouth said they would release after 7 on Thursday, but does anyone know what time to expect? I’ve been told Dartmouth is sometimes the last Ivy to release

Based on the college decision reaction videos I have seen, it was around 7:20 pm last year but who knows if the same will be true this year.

anyone has their financial aid date changed in their portal? some said if it changed then is a good sign… idk

nothing from me

I posted a few weeks ago. My daughter has several documents (W2s, etc) in her FA portal w/ a 3/4 date. We submitted all FA forms in November, and the FAFSA and CSS still say Nov. Hope the other forms and March date amount to an auspicious sign!

Okay, I normally don’t believe in all this portal astrology, but I’m leaning toward believing that recent dates on fin aid docs that were submitted long ago might actually be an indicator that a fin aid award (thus an admit) is forthcoming. My student’s Dartmouth dates haven’t changed at all— they still show the date originally submitted, and she honestly isn’t a good fit for Dartmouth. We are expecting a denial. However, on another school releasing decisions on same date, she has a bunch of recent dates on fin aid docs and more we’re requested; for this school she is a great fit and I think she has a good chance of being admitted. Of course, we’ll know for sure in about 48 hours, but FWIW…

how do you see when they requested documents?

Financial aid checklist on the portal

Why my portal only has the statement for releasing date but no checklist? Is it bec it’s near releasing date, or there’s other access to checklist😢

do you have a fin aid checklist?

There was one day last week I only had the statement, then later that day the Fin Aid checklist came back.

Good luck! Both my kids were Dartmouth Bound and got in regular decision ('21 and current '25).

My daughter, who is the '21 also said the “word of mouth” was that Bound was a feeder for Dartmouth.

I think there is something to it…my son who applied ED to Dartmouth had zero date changes up until the ED Decisions came out. During RD round, he had a few date changes like a week or two before decisions. He got in.

On the other hand, DS is into 6 schools already with FA offers and not a single one showed any change to his materials after applying in the fall. I think it all depends on if they have what they need from you - which his schools presumably had. But I agree it is a good sign if they are in there in visible ways working with your documents. But the absence of that, at least in our experience at other schools this year, does not mean you are not getting it.

And my D got accepted to a school for example and I just got an email from Financial Aid asking for a specific document.

You are correct. My experience is anecdotal and limited to Dartmouth (both kids had same scenarios). But again, anecdotal.
