dartmouth trip/ hotels may 05

08 parents weekend may 6-8
being from florida my wife and i werent sure we could drive mountains anymore
so we decided to fly, use bus then car rental locally

flew orlando to manchester, nh direct 725 am to 1015 am
walk out from baggage, center doors, second island walk to the left
there is a small bus shelter there for vermont transit 21 bucks 11am bus..
pay driver, no reservation needed though you can buy ticket on line
it made a brief stop at manchester downtown then direct to hanover 1215pm
then to white river junction 1230pm(note see schedule some make several more stops)

then enterprise car just a few blocks away, but he picked us up at bus ..just call from bus when 10 minutes
away..he drives you a few blocks to office sign paper and go..

we stayed comfort suites( there is also a comfort inn) but the suites is 1 year old and clean and nice
and just a long block away from enterprise..on same street hampton inn looked new and
holiday express suites is brand new(somone said do not do howard johnson)

these hotels are on rt 5 just where 91 and 89 cross ..you can jump on 91 north
or just go up rt 5 north and enjoy little towns just 5 or 6miles and you are at norwich vt
and make a right and your at the bridge by dartmouth
so if your not doing hanover inn which is most convenient but 2times the price, these hotels
are convenient

great hanover food...lous for breakfast!!....mollies for lunch...and do take a drive to quechee and visit
simon pierce glass works and restaurant (30 dollars/person),it was mothers day looking over a small waterfall
to get to quechee and woodstock vt go back to hotel area in white river and go rt 4 west about 6 miles
to quechee gorge and 1 more to simon pierce

any questions about travel feel free to ask..good luck 09s!!

You should plan on a football weekend in early October for each of the next 4 years.

Sounds great! The only bad thing about Lou's, though, is that during breakfast it seems like the entire population of Hanover is in that one room.

french toast and home fries delish!!

Went by Lou's sunday to pick up a muffin and they were pretty much sold out. Said they had a long line starting at 7 am. Did get to eat breakfast there saturday approx. 30 minute wait.
