Opinions on strengths/weaknesses and which is better.
Go.

Each has it's strengths.

Hard to beat Wharton classes if you're interested in business, even if not enrolled at Wharton. Penn has better weather and proximity to culture. The food carts!

Dartmouth is hard to beat for it's study abroad opportunites. D Plan allows multiple study abroads and opportunity for multiple internships at times of the year when there's little competition for them. Undergrad focus. Beautiful campus and amazing spirit.

the biggest differences are size and location. and that it really about preference. small/rural versus larger/urban.

It's hard for me to imagine that both colleges would appear on the same list. If you like Penn, it's hard to imagine liking Dartmouth. And vice versa. Why not pick a college based on the type of environment in which you want to spend the next four years?

As a Penn grad with a son at Dartmouth, I disagree. They actually have very similar undergrad cultures. Urban vs. rural, sure, but Penn may as well be rural because kids don't partake much in the surrounding community.
