I'm posting this on both Dartmouth and Harvard forums to get a better balance of opinions. Most people I know are advicing me to go to Dartmouth (warmer people, overall insanely good qualifications, etc). However, I'm having trouble saying no to Harvard. I mean, Harvard's Harvard: its got an insane library and boston. Anyways, any comment is much appreciated.

dartmouth is much more undergraduate focused, which is certainly one thing working in its favor compared to harvard. You'll most likely have smaller classes and more attention from professors. However, you will have to deal with the D-Plan, which creates a schedule that is different from other colleges. In addition, Hanover is kinda isolated, and Harvard is in Cambridge. While this is a negative about dartmouth, it creates a campus unity that simply does not exist at harvard.

Turn down Harvard.

In my graduating class there were approximately 20 students admitted to Harvard. About 16 went. None of the 4 who turned it down regretted it; in fact they all love their respective schools. It's tough to look past name but if you visit Harvard you'll find many many students who can tell you it doesn't pay to go just where you think will look best.

On the other hand, if you've visited Cambridge and you loved it, by all means!

Raspberry, where did you go to school?
