Dartmouth vs. Princeton? Are there any visual art majors here?

To be clear: I got waitlisted to Princeton and accepted into Dartmouth. Yale was my top choice, but I was rejected lol. Oh well, haha. I want to major in visual art... and Ideally I want to try for Yale again in four years. I know it is very improbable, but I am not letting go hope just yet!

I guess I am couting my chicks too early, but since it takes quite a bit of time to get off waitlists if i do ever get off, I thought I should start researching anyways.. Apparently Princeton does not exactly have a visual art major, but a split combination of art and art history, called Program 2. On the other hand, you can major in studio art at Dartmouth. What would go for if you were in my situation?

The actual reason I am asking though, how is the visual art major @ Dartmouth: Do you like it? How is the level of the works of the students in the program? Any complaints? etc... If anyone would be kind enough to give me an insider's detail I would be so thankful!!

Princeton had a 7.9 admit rate this year and you have a small chance of getting off of the wait list. Since It seems like you don’t really want to attend Dartmouth, why did you apply? Until you hear from a wait listed school, you need to make a plan. Go to dimensions, check out the art department, look at the course offerings, sit in on some classes, talk to professors and other students. Then make a decision to either attend or move on. Should you be admitted from a wait list, then it is gravy, otherwise, you need to know that the school that you attend (other than the name) is the right place for you.
