Hello, all! Hopefully I'm doing this right because it's my first time posting!

I just found out that I've been accepted to the Brown/RISD Dual Degree Class of 2016 as well as Dartmouth Class of 2015. Now I'm trying to weigh my options--I realize that the dual degree program is extremely difficult to get into, and I really am surprised to have been accepted, and it would allow me to pursue both academics and arts, both of which are super important to me, but I've also heard of the strength of Dartmouth's undergraduate program, which is rated first in the country. Dartmouth also offer's the D-Plan, and for a study abroad junkie like me, that's just perfect. At this point in time, I have no idea as to what I'd like to major in or do for a career, so it almost seems safer to go to Dartmouth, where the undergrad majors are all superb. On the other hand, 5 years for two degrees is not bad at all, though with 5 years, I'd imagine you'd get more breadth instead of depth and would grad schools/employers appreciate that?

Taking these points into consideration, which program would you guys choose?

this forum is getting depressing to me with all these star studded acceptance reports…
jokes aside
are you hardcore Asian or international?
this is (almost) first time anyone wanted Dartmouth over Brown if art is in the picture.
I happened to love Dartmouth and almost always ridiculed here (art forum) mentioning about it.
I guess question is, what art do you do, how important it is, would want to major it after what, two years sampling all other options in nice small cold beautiful collegetown with nothing but college in it?
If you have stuff to get in dual, I would give it all, unless Brown is not really your thing.
other thing to consider would be it is year longer, not yet proven its merit ( only hi hypes, the program have not yet produced graduates) RISD ship might be in trouble with its leadership, etc.
ask around, read up, count money if you need to.
if you can’t can’t decide, which sweatshirts do you look good in it?
that brown or that forest green?

Yeah if you’re really into art then Brown/RISD no question (this coming from a Dartmouth alum.) Its going to be one of the best programs in the country. If Art is just an interest, and you are focused on doing something else then definitely put Dartmouth into heavy consideration.
