What's dating like at princeton...common? more of a longterm relationship culture or mainly hookups...?

As a Pton student, I can rightly claim that Princeton is the worst place to go look for dating. The girls are terrible looking, although you sometimes see a rare girl that may be rated a 7-8 in real world terms at best. Go to Penn for girls, that’s probably why people choose Wharton over Princeton.

^^ seconded

Really? I guess I don’t have a large sample, but I’ve known several girls who’ve gone to Princeton and they are all quite attractive. I had always assumed Princeton girls were slightly more attractive on average when compared to girls at other peer institutions.

I wouldn’t necessarily say that Princeton girls are uglier than girls at other schools. I believe that there is less variance in the attractiveness of Princeton girls. In other words, the girls are more “clustered” around “average” to “well-kept”. This means less spectacularly hot girls (which is why some ppl think the girls are ugly b/c they have trouble finding the 9s and 10s), but it also means we have fewer (basically no) morbidly obese girls that are present elsewhere (but no one pays any attention to them, especially at first glance, which is why the female segment of other student bodies may seem to be more attractive at the outset).

i havent heard anything amazing about the guys either :/. oh well

Dating (ie. going on dates, casually) is rare - you’ll find either couples who are really serious and will probably get married, or random drunken hookups.

Agree with Ray that there are really no fat people at Princeton

" …there are really no fat people at Princeton."

Is this any reflection on the quality of the food?

Haha personally I thought that dining hall food was terrible when I was an underclassmen, and barely ever ate in them, but they’ve made an effort to improve the dhalls, especially when they renovated Rocky/Mathey. Wilcox/Wu is still pretty bad, but I think they are working on renovating that too. Underclassmen also have the option of eating at Frist, where you can redeem your dining hall points for “late meal,” and most upperclassmen eat in eating clubs. Food varies from club to club but mine was superb and it’s a wonder I didn’t gain a bunch of weight from being in it. There are also a ton of study breaks going on all the time, so there’s never a lack of things to eat.

I think the no fat people thing is more of a school-wide culture… people work out a lot at Princeton and the gym is always crowded (meanwhile my friend at a liberal arts college told me that most people don’t even know where the gym is)… I don’t think there’s a particular body image problem… it’s probably the same as most colleges in regards to eating disorders, etc.
