Dating scene at a "nerd school"

I'm just curious, what is the dating scene like at a "nerdy" school?

I guess that's one positive of going to UT Austin, the hottest girls of any university!!!

anyone can get someone if they want to, more or less. Its amazing how many kids dont want to. (I don't) ... I don't know.. what's it like at a normal school?? hahaha. People aren't so superficial. It is much nicer.

Nerdy school like what? MIT?

I just meant my HS...I am not in college yet. sorry.

I'll define a nerdy school as a lot of studying and very little partying.

dating is relative to...sadly enough, what you look like. sorry, but i don't care where you are: if you're the best looking person in school, you'll always be able to get a date. and shock! if you're the slightest bit overweight (which I am, so don't think i'm just saying this to be mean) you're probably out of luck in HS. Because lets face it, we may all be very intelligent but we're still kids. And kids are mean for stupid reasons. sorry if this all comes across as crass, but all of this is from experience. stupid boys.... lol -M

Half of Caltech students sexually active?!?!?

I think there would have to be a pretty large gay community for it to be much more than 50% at CalTech.

or some ridiculous skanks.

Wrong on both counts, idiot.

well that was uncalled for

so was your skank comment :/

generalizations are never true

no matter how nerdy a school is there still will be cool people
no matter how selective a school is there still will be dumb people
no matter how 'friendly' a school is there still will be jerks

Generalizations aside, all I'm saying is that there are not as many females as there are males at CalTech, so in order for a majority of the students to be sexually active there would have to be a good amount of gay relationships, or each girl would have to be involved with multiple guys. I admit that I oversimplified the matter and ignored the possibility of guys being active with girls not in the school, but really it was just a joke and I'm sorry if anyone was offended. For the future, I recommend acquiring a sense of humor, they can be handy in situations like this.

... except for that whole world off campus that is filled with girls thing. Reality's a downer.

well actually... for each sexually active relationship both people involved are sexually active... not just the guys... Therefore if 60% of the student body was sexually active there could easily be 30% or less of that being guys... soooo... actually youre completely wrong.

redsilverclouds said it best. :p

I don't go to a nerd school, but I am part of the nerd subset of the school because I'm a chem major. There are nerds that still like to get together & have a party.. it's just a lot lamer than a non-nerd party. I've been to several nerd partys where after a few drinks the guys whip our physics books and start trying to do problems. It's quite amusing. Anyways, dating does happen within the nerdy majors, it's just a function of whether the guy can tell if a girl is interested, and if he does anything about it. Math/physics/chemistry/engineering majors seem to mesh well together.

hahaha. that is so cool... I know people who do that (drink + homework) funny...
