No, I have an office job, but yesterday I had to do a ton of outdoors stuff and inventory. We were also so busy that I had to constantly run everywhere and I didn't get to sit down for more than 15 minutes (and that was lunch). I'm about to have to go back and do the same exact thing today and it SUCKS. It wouldn't be bad if it wasn't so hot out. Hopefully I'll get done with all that stuff today.

He knows that there isn't really anything between us. We used to be pretty close friends but then he got with some jealous girl and things kinda got put on hold.

As far as my shopping, I put it all on my credit card that my mom pays. haha. But why does it matter who pays for it? It just bugs me because it's almost like some of them insinuate that we charge our customers a lot at our family business so I can go shopping and on vacations and everything else (if you look at the bottom of the bill, we now have a "Mandy's shopping surcharge" lol not really). One girl called me a spoiled trust fund kid, which kinda makes me mad, you know? I am spoiled, but I don't need people to tell me about it since I obviously know.

I'm not against shopping with a female friend. However, I'm not sure if I would feel good about myself if I went shopping with a trustfund kid and seeing all the cool stuff I could be buying for myself.

I'm not exactly a trustfund kid. I don't shop at better places than they do, I just get more. I can't help it that their parents aren't willing to let them spend as much money as mine are. They also go shopping like at least 2 times a month and spend like $200 each time where as I spend like 2,000 each time I go shopping (which is like 4 times a year and I do go a few other times but I don't spend as much). It's just jealousy and it ****es me off that people would have the nerve to say those things.

haha i'm jealous--that's a lot of clothes ;)

but i have friends who are really well-off and, i'm not gonna lie, sometimes i feel like i'm not dressed as well as they are when we go out and stuff (even though i know that guys can't tell the difference between an $80 top and a $15 one if they both flash a little cleavage haha..). but they're total sweethearts and i'd never say anything rude to them about it. yeah, they're kinda spoiled, but they're definitely not snobs. it sounds like you're the same way and your friends let their jealousy become really negative..

I never said you were a trust fund kid OKgirl. I have some friends that are though. I'd really hate to see the crap they drop money on. One of my friends said her roommate will go shopping and spend a few hundred every time she feels sad (which would be every few weeks). I'm sure if I went with some of my friends on their shopping sprees I'd feel like the homeless guy asking for change in front of Wawa.

OKgirl, next time you go shopping you mind picking me up a few polos? I really like Ralph Lauren, but am way to cheap to spend the $250 i need to get a few good polos.

im going to nyc to go shopping soon. i need help.

Haha needless to say I'm not friends with the people who said that stuff to me. Venkat, I wasn't saying that you said I was, I was just clarifying that I'm not; I used to also shop when I was bored or sad and my mom actually put her foot down when she saw the credit card bill. I'm actually kinda like Leah, I rather have 20 cheaper tops instead of 5-10 expensive ones (I'm going to be tired of them in a few months anyways). A lot of my friends that I currently shop with also come from well-off families (but they are rich because of investments, we are from income and investments), but they still aren't allowed to spend a ton of money. I actually hate when anyone is standing there when they hit the total key. lethargytm, if you want to fly me to NYC, I'd love to help you shop. LOL. I'm still really upset that I can't go to Dallas before school starts.

ill fly you out but youre going to have to find a place to sleep.

LOL yeah right.

i'll come with you & we can stay with a composer friend of mine or my socialist uncle who lives in the bronx ;)

You can fly leah & me out there and have 2 personal shoppers! lol.

Waaah I can't believe this thread is still alive.

^ spends $8000 a year on clothes

^how much do you spend?

i spent about 50-100 each year before college so i had a little variety in clothes. i havent spent more than 2000 in my life on clothes i bet

Now I feel super guilty about my shopping habits :(

no that cant be true. diapers are considered clothing too.

man i dont know about two personal shoppers....... and i was totally semi serious, i dont even know. i just don't want my mom being the one getting my clothes.

LOL I can just see it "hey mom, this is OKgirl from CC......". As odd as this sounds, I love shoppng with my mom. When she goes with me I get to buy more. I also get to talk her out of buying ugly stufffor herself. So when are you going to NYC?

I have to go clothes shopping with my mom so I don't get stuck paying for everything out of my own pocket. I'm just not sure at what age she'll stop spotting me money for clothes and food.

I'm afraid for the day my mom cuts me off. She'll probably pay for everything (well maybe not furnishing an apartment) until I get out of college and get a real job. Everyone jokes about how my mom will never cut me off, but I know she will eventually.
