we still haven’t been contacted for an interview
I emailed nova 2 days ago w/no response
anyone w/similar issues?

yeah… Still haven’t been contacted :(

No interview yet here. Two emails telling us that they are swamped.

We are not going to receive any financial aid, so I am hoping to avoid doing a FAFSA. Although, now I fear that I may need to at least submit a FAFSA for D to get any MERIT aid. Does anyone know if we need to do the paperwork if kids is only eligible for merit? THANKS!

2 years ago, by D received with her letter of acceptance a 9,000 scholarship award. No FASFA filled out, no request for financial aid. It all came together. My S applied this year, and has great stats as well 35 ACT 4.0 UW, 6 AP’s thru Jr yr 5 senior yr. Lots of EC and Awards. Will be curious to see if Villanova does the same with him as my D. He has better stat’s that she did.

Thanks for the info SDmom2!

My son was contacted last week from an alumn. He met with him on Saturday and said he was great. Very relaxed and down to earth. Spoke very highly of the school S is more excited than ever to go…hope he receives a scholarship…lol:) Good luck.

Contacted today for casual interview on Sunday at a Starbucks. Any ideas what to expect?

Son’s on his way back from his interview right now!

Please advise. Any direction is appreciated.

My interview was more formal (at my interviewer’s office) than Starbucks, but we just talked for an hour. It seems like the interviewers are given a list of talking points to reference, not necessarily a list of mandatory questions. They also write reports and send them in to admissions. But really, what I’ve learned from the interviews…I don’t think they carry much weight. If the interviewer writes to the school that the kid was half an hour late, unprepared, inarticulate and knew nothing about the school, that’s one thing. But I think the vast majority of interview notes for Villanova scholarship candidates will read the same.

Thanks so much for taking the time to give me a feel for what to expect. It makes me less nervous. Good luck to you! I appreciate your help.

My son’s interview was pretty much an extended conversation, also. He and the alumnus talked about common interests that surfaced. Son wasn’t grilled at all or asked really formal questions. Just be yourself and prepared to discuss things you’re passionate about. They probably want to get a feel for you as a person and for what you’d contribute to campus.

Thanks so much. That’s good to know. Did they tell you when they would let you know if you receive a scholarship?

No. I imagine it will be included in your FA package when they send those out in April or whenever.

Thanks for the info. I appreciate your help.
