I mean, Guys, who else misses Chappelle? I know I sure do. Come back to the United States, Dave.

I miss Chappelle, that guy's hilarious! I liked his impersonation of Rick James the most.

Prince playing basketball.

I miss David Chappelle too and I have to agree with CollegeHereI Come. His impersonation of Rick James was one of his funniest acts

"What did the five fingers say to the face?"
"Your couch, man! Your couch!"
"I'm Rick James b*tch! Now show me your titties!"

The racial draft and the Wayne Brady sketch were two of the funniest

JOEV is soo right. The wayne brady sketch was his all time best along with prince. What happened to him? seriously, I think he is the funniest man alive. he makes thes stupidest comments and action seem like the funniest thing.

That Wayne Brady Sketch was soo funny and the race draft too. My sister is soo pressed over that Rick James stuff. She claims that the whole "I'm Rick James bit*h" thing is her's now. He is one funny guy

What about those R. Kelly and Michael Jackson sketches? Lol...jury selection

the best one is black bush

Racial draft was hilarious.

Does anybody know what's up with the guy now? Are we ever going to get new episodes?

Does anybody know what's up with the guy now? Are we ever going to get new episodes?

I heard he's in a drug rehab center.

I'm pretty sure he said that he was just taking a break and that he was not in a drug rehab center. And this was a couple weeks ago...am I wrong?

Dave Chappelle makes money stereotyping his own race. If I were black I would hate people like Dave Chappelle making a mockery out of African-Americans as a collection of half-wit, overly-RACIST bunch of people who can't take life seriously in any aspect.

Am I going to say he's never made me laugh? Nope. But am I going to say he hasn't made the public and me more racist? Absolutely not.

No, not racist in the harmful-prejudice sort of way, but racist in the subtle "noticing every difference between us and them" sort of way. It's always "black people this!" and "white people this!" in EVERY SINGLE SKIT.

I've got a NEWSFLASH for all of black America that wants to end racism for good, from a WHITE person's perspective: making fun of yourself constantly doesn't reduce any racism, it only makes the artificial differences between the races more apparent.

You don't see people making jokes constantly about fat people versus thin people, do you? That's because no one notices the difference between fat people and thin people because IT DOESN'T MATTER; being fat or thin is just a physical trait, nothing more. The same goes with RACE.

We WANT a world where differences between races are acknowledged to be what they truly are: merely physical (not cultural).

In the mean time, comedians saying stuff like, "US N***ERS ARE SO LAID BACK COMPARED TO YOU UP TIGHT WHITE PEEPLE!!!" or "HAVE U EVER NOTICED HOW BLACK PEOPLE ALWAYS GOTTA GET UP AND START DANCING WHEN THEY HEAR ANY SORT OF A DRUM BEAT?" and then flowing on into a skit bringing out every cultural difference they can find to exploit the difference for their own gain at the expense any black person who wants to be taken seriously ISN'T HELPING.

Being "black" should be limited to having dark skin, just like being "tall" should be limited to possessing a lengthy body structure. Think about it: stereotyping tall people as "a bunch of illiterate basketball players" would rumble the cages of many Americans, yet, what is the difference between the "tall = dumb basketball player" notion and the "black = illiterate crack addicted funny man" one? And hold a second, just where did that "black = illiterate crack addicted funny man" stereotype come from? Why, I believe it was Dave Chappelle! What a (not-so) surprising example of how watching that show has inadvertently changed my aspect of the typical black man into a negative one. (Of course I realize not every black man is like this, but after CONSTANTLY being bombarded with these images from movies, video games, and comedy shows, IT DOESN'T SURPRISE ME IT'S THE FIRST THING THAT COMES TO MY HEAD).

It's sad. Centuries of fighting to be viewed equal, ruined by a few cultural elitists who exploit every current cultural difference they can find, all the while serving as role models for younger generations and sending the message that "being racist 24/7 is OK as long as long as you play it off as being funny!"

I for one am not happy with people like Dave Chappelle, and I don't suspect many hard working black Americans are either.

Regardless, Samuel Jackson beer might be one of the funniest things I've ever seen.

I heard he had a mental breakdown right before the 3rd season and couldnt cope with the pressure so he ran to South Africa....

I love Chappelle, but I never got what was so funny about the Rick James thing. It's funny because it's Dave Chappelle and he makes everything funny, but I don't understand where the references come from, and why he acts the way he does.

Yeah, I thought the rick james thing was kinda funny, but not his funniest thing. I just like his comedy as a whole and find it superior to others.

You're a tool, and severely need to consider the concepts of "comedy" and "satire" (particularly the latter).

And by the way, making fun of yourself and the situation most certainly can help things. Richard Pryor? All in the Family? The Jeffersons (just to name a few things)? I'd say that none of these caused racism to flare up and consume the nation, and in fact had rather positive influences.

HTH

GeorgeS, Chappelle is a COMEDIAN, he doesnt mean anything he says on his shows. Lighten down a bit, and you will get the most out of his humor.

btw, the Wayne Brady and Affirmative Action episodes were hillarious!

Im Riyatch Biyaahch
