Hey guys, I was accepted to a number of places, and ended up narrowing it down to Davidson and Vanderbilt
I visited Vanderbilt over the summer and loved it
But I just visited Davidson a week ago, and also loved it
I'm choosing them both over technically more "prestigious" schools because I think they're better fits for me
I plan on going premed, with a possible neuroscience major

I have heard a number of things from a few well respected teachers, friends and counselors, and both schools definitely have their pros and cons

My questions for you guys are: What are your biggest gripes about Davidson? How's premed? What are the best things about Davidson? Relate to Vanderbilt if at all possible

I was considering Vanderbilt a while back as well. Vandy and Davidson are both AMAZING schools. I’m not sure what Vandy’s acceptance rate to med school is, but I’m pretty sure that Davidson is 90% FIRST CHOICE acceptance, and even higher overall. The average is 45%, so that alone is pretty impressive.

Probably the biggest positive for me was that because of the rigor of the Davidson curriculum and the selectiveness of the school, the student body here is comprised of kids that, if they didn’t apply to the top echelon of colleges and universities, they easily could, and get accepted. So my point is that because Davidson, although such a fantastic school, doesn’t have AS much name recognition as other equal caliber schools, the students that choose Davidson end up going because they genuinely love the school. Or at least, that is what I saw when I was making my decision.

I think that says a lot about the students that attend Davidson and makes, and will make for us, a great campus environment.
