I will definitely be in attendance!

“Finally got paid now I need shade and a vacay…”

I’m going.

I’m definitely going! See you guys there

I’m definitely going to try and make it happen!

Anybody else attending ESCAPE?

Help me out here. I will be traveling alone from across the country to admitted students day. Is there anyway I will be able to stay overnight? Is there something I can set up?

@belizeme Start with people from your high school who are at W&M or with friends of theirs, if there are any who go to W&M. I recognize this is less likely if you’re coming from the west coast; since W&M is a state school, most kids are from Virginia.

If that doesn’t work, call your admissions counselor and tell him or her the story, and see if it’s possible to set up a stay with a student. I don’t think there’s a formal program except possibly for the diversity program, which is too bad. You’ll learn a lot if you can stay over in the dorms.

Good luck!

@Belizeme‌ Are you male or female? There is the program that @WorldExplorer‌ mentioned above called ESCAPE. It’s a pretty cool and I have done it both as an overnight guest and this year as a host. Although it has traditionally been targeted towards students from minority or multicultural backgrounds, really anyone can participate in the program.

You can learn more about it and sign up here (http://www.wm.edu/admission/undergraduateadmission/how-to-apply/freshmanapplicants/multiculturalstudents/admissionprograms/escape/) It’s really a great opportunity that I think is under-advertised. It’s completely free and all you would need is a sleeping bag and whatever else you want to bring, think of it as a slumber party with a couple of events going on through the evening.

If you have any problems setting up an overnight through the admissions office, feel free to message me and we can try to work something out.
