Are many of you planning on going to the admitted students' day at W&L?

Our entire family went last year to the W&L Accepted Student Day. It was a good way to get one last look at things before she made her choice. There were a lot of students who attended even if W&L was their definite decision and they had already put down a deposit.

Even if your child has done an overnight in the dorms, s/he can do another one through the Admissions Office. There are a lot of Generals willing to host prospectives.

My S went to admitted students' day last yr as well, after he had already accepted the admissions offer. Loved meeting future classmates -- several even went out together that night to a reggae concert on campus.

One of the things he'll never forget is walking in the door and having admissions staff greet him by name upon sight, enthusiastically welcoming him to the W&L family.

Dd is going to W&L! We are thrilled for her!

My daughter is going to W&L next year too! She is still on campus today and is going out with some students tonight. This was the first time my husband has seen the campus so he is there with her. I'm glad he likes it as much as my daughter and I do! We have just finished making hotel plans for the move in and parents day! Yikes rooms were hard to find!

My daughter said that she was greeted by name too! The one staff member that didn't remember her name remembered how she spent last summer! My husband about fell off his chair. These people travel around and meet so many kids it is so cool that months later they know names, schools, summer plans! I am so happy that she is going to W&L next year!

Welcome to the W&L family!

Just got back from a weekend visit -- how gorgeous is that campus/town in springtime! When matched up with the legendary "Spring Term" concept, with a professor he says defines "awesome," it's an amazing experience for my freshman S.

BTW -- he had a great time meeting so many of you new Generals last Wed at ASD!

I actually didn't go to the Accepted Students Day because I had spent two nights on campus in early March for the scholarship competition. I kind of wish I had gone since I would have been able to meet some of my future classmates.

Should we start reserving hotels for the move-in already?

^^^^Yes, you should (and rooms for Parents' Weekend as well).

I talked with my daughter yesterday about when W&L would start this fall, and after going through an amazing amount of paper, she found last year's calendar, so I know that move-in day is in late August or early Spetember.....where would we find that info?

Thanks -- I already feel behind!

My daughter is going to move her stuff into her room early so that she can go on the hiking trip! I'm sorry to say that I don't remember what the date is my husband told me and it went in one ear and out the other! I do know that the kids from far away get to move into the dorms and then leave for the trips. Book your room now because it was really hard to get rooms for parents weekend! It wasn't too hard to find a room for the early move-in day for freshmen going on trips but I would think that would be changing soon too.
