Day Schools

Would you please recommend some good day schools in the northwest which offer international students homestay for me ?
What's the requirement for applying to good day schools?

Well, I know the Houghton Academy offers homestay. But why not attend a boarding school if you do not have any friends or relatives in the US.

Thank you goneverstop~Well, there are many holidays in the US and the schools are closed during the holiday.I do not know where to live at that time~Also, living with local family can help me know more about local customs and cultures ,and improve my English more quickly.

By the way, which school are you in?

PS:I do not think Houghton is a good school. What about other top day schools?

^I wouldn’t worry about where you would go during vacation while at boarding school if you did want to go that route. At my school, many families at boarding schools are willing to host international students during school vacations and the schools will generally help initiate and organize that for you.

Well, you have just asked a question in Pingzhang’s Blog, haha. Maybe the Roxbury Latin school is the best day school aronud the US. But I still think it is not fit to you to attend a day school. Just like hj0519 said,“many families at boarding schools are willing to host international students during school vacations and the schools will generally help initiate and organize that for you” You don’t need worry about it.
PS: There are many good boaridng schools still available now. You can have a try and do not need to transfer in Grade 11.

You are also Chinese, right?May I make friends with you?My QQ number is 453831522.My email address is howard19930429@gmail.com.
Ps:Would you please recommend me some good boarding schools which have space available now as soon as possible?Time is quite limited…

What about an exchange student program, like AFS?

Silconvalleymom, actually, exchange program is not in my plan,so I know little about it.Would you please tell me more details about it?Do private schools have exchange program? And what is AFS?Thank you~

AFS stands for American Field Service. Their website explains the program as “AFS students live with a host family and attend a local secondary school as full-time students.” They say that 13,000 students, young adults and teachers participate annually.
There are many student exchange programs like AFS, but that is a good place to start your research. Understand that the exchanges are for a semester or school year, so it’s a different kind of experience than boarding school.
