I need help w dc++. I can connect to the cornellU node (THChub I believe it is called). Once I am connected though, I cannot search for any songs. I press the search button, enter my query in the field, click search, and it just searches for a long time with no responses. I am searching popular terms that people should have too. Can anyone help me with my problem. how does one search using DC++?

if you arent sharing enough GB to start with, it wont allow you to download any music. there is a certain quota you have to fill until you can begin to swap music

When you say music does that apply to any files in general? I’m guessing DC++ can’t tell what’s music and what’s other stuff.

Ya it can be any type of file. I think search was just down for a little bit last night, it seems to be working fine now.

try adjusting your firewall settings or moving to passive mode

Can you use DC++ if you live in collegetown?

You cannot download from the hub if you are off-campus. You either have to be on ResNet or using RedRover. However, if you miss the social aspect (if any) of the hub, you can still use the chat room by connecting to port 4000.
