DE for Pre-Med

Hey Everyone,

I live in Florida and am currently going to the local community college as a high school junior for dual enrollment. The college is Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC). This school is accredited by USF, and the courses I am taking will transfer there.

I am taking
BSC 1005 Intro to Biology
BSC 1020 Human Biology
MAC 1105 College Algebra
MAC 1147 Pre-Calculus/Trigonometry

I was wondering if these biology and math courses would fit under the BCPM that medical schools calculate GPA under.

Thanks

Just to add to above . . .

I understand that i need to take actual Biology 1 and Biology 2 courses, along with college level mathematics. I was just wondering if these courses would boost my GPA and be incorporated in the BCPM.

I believe only those courses taken after HS will be counted. But I could be wrong. You can call a med school and find out.

No need to call med schools, all college coursework, no matter when it is taken is used in med school gpa calculations. See page 7 in the AMCAS Instructions:
