I'm an incoming freshman to the class of 2016, I was assigned to Holly Ridge residence hall in a triple. After doing some google searching, I'm a little curious as to what the makeup of my floor will be. I was hoping that by prioritizing residence halls, i would be grouped on the same floor as a bunch of other incoming freshmen. From what I've read, it seems like Holly Ridge is popular with returning students. So I guess my question is this, will my floor be all freshman with a couple RA's? Ie. the traditional freshman experience, or will I be mixed in with returning students? And if so, how can I change it?

youre gonna be in halls with mostly returning students since its a new deluxe res hall and most returning students requested it.

if youre looking to change it youre gonna have to find someone else in a different building, agree that you both want to trade with each other and go to the Open Transfer night which is sometime in september i believe…

Overall, there’ll be some first years in Holly, but definitely not as much as the other halls’ (Sproul, Rieber, Hedrick). And ya, if you want to change to something else, just do it on Open Transfer Night.

Hi! I’m assigned to Hitch Suites and I’m looking for a residence hall! Both of my roommates are freshman; would you be interested in switching with me?

I’m a second year and lived in holly last year and am going to live in gardenia this year. Holly filled up really fast during housing sign up so it’ll probably have mostly 2nd years but they may have reserved some rooms for freshmen. Honestly I wouldn’t recommend rushing to switch out because it could end up better than you imagined! Holly is really nice, almost brand new, and the rooms are HUGE compared to regular dorms (and there’s AC!!!). I knew people last year who switched dorms before school started and then regretted it a lot. I also know first years last year who ended up in a hall with mainly 2nd years and loved it.
