I have been looking into some of the colleges that I applied to and I can't find the deadline for submitting the FAFSA. Can someone please tell me any website where I can find the deadlines? I have also seen the 2007-2008 FAFSA worksheet and the state aid deadlines. It gives the deadlines for all of the states. I'm unsure if these are the deadlines for the colleges or not. If I applied to Brown, then is my FAFSA due on the deadline for Rhode Island (March 1st) or is it due on the deadline for the state in which I live, North Carolina (deadline: March 15th)?

Also, if I am a high school senior and going to college next year, I should be filling out the 2007-2008 FAFSA, right? Thank you in advance.

Yes for starting this fall 2007-2008 FAFSA. Some schools have recommended deadlines, or harder deadlines. The ones for your state (your state of residence not where you will potentially attend) are HARD deadlines. Best for you to review your potential colleges websites or call the finaid office.

Still probably better to be earlier rather than later....and fatal in some instances to be late!

The Deadline for filing FAFSA and CSS for Brown is February 1. Colleges have their financial aid deadlines posted on their financial aid sites. My understanding is that the State deadlines are for State schools.

I think you would have to look at each school for their deadline.

State deadlines would also be for any State sponsored need based financial aid which may be available for private and public schools. For instance our State has 2 need based state grants which are in addition to federal need based grants - one is specifically for private schools. But they are both for State residents. And they recommend submitting FAFSA as early as possible as funds are limited.

Also you have to make sure that the deadlines you are looking at are for incoming students as opposed to students already enrolled, which is usually later.
