When I started Part 2, it said 11:45 eastern.
But then at the end, it said
"The application deadline for Early Decision candidates is 11:59pm (Eastern Time) on November 2, 2009. The application deadline for Regular Decision candidates is 11:59pm (Eastern Time) on January 4, 2010. "

so which one? either i was late, or I wasn't. (It let me submit, btw)

don’t worry about it.

columbia probably wanted folks to freak out 14 min earlier…so that the server wouldn’t crash at 11:59.

ok
i think as long as you submitted (and this goes for every school), you’re on time

PS admissionsgeek - you give some of the best advice i’ve ever heard on this site and are never controversial or opinionated. keep it up.

I have the same question. I submitted mine about 4 minutes after midnight because my internet was lagging. Obviously it did let me submit; I just don’t know if they’ll throw aside my application because it was “late.”

OP - At what time did you end up submitting it?

I submitted at 11:48.
I was like oh f**k because on the first page of the app it said the deadline was 11:45 eastern. but after I submitted, it said the deadline was 11:59 eastern.

@blissfulting

I think that most colleges have grace periods to account for internet/server problems, so I think that you should be fine.

and unfortunately, if you were not allowed to submit your app, they probably won’t be reviewing it. sorry :/

EDIT: okay nevermind, i thought it said “Obviously it did not let me submit”. You should be fine. Most college have a leeway period.
