I wanted to basically ask that it says that NYU's application deadline is January first. Its winter break right now so my school is closed and even their admissions offices are closed until January second. I also remember reading that turning in your application late can only hurt your chances of admission but I don't know if they are referring to late as after the deadline, or late before the deadline. They also mention that sending the materials (transcript, scores and recommendations) long after January first would hurt your chances which seems to imply that they would still consider it.

So basically I am wondering, if I were to finish the online app by January first, send the scores today so they reach in a few weeks, get the recs online by end of first week of January, and my transcript sent (probably would take the longest, hopefully by mid January), would they still even read my application or would this just hurt my chances? And if it only hurts my chances, then by how much?
