Hello all,

So, I'm doing neuroscience and applied math. in college. I know this sounds like a "duh" moment but the work is absolutely crushing -- although I am fascinated by both. I read something the other day that said most biology majors put in 16 hours of studying a week...I put nearly that much in every single day.

Top graduate schools in Canada are extremely competitive to get into for the natural sciences. If you GPA is under 3.7, I've had many professors tell me, most top schools just won't read the rest of you application. Several people I know who got accepted to these top schools in Canada (like McGill) also got accepted to Ivy League US Schools like Harvard. That's how psychotic the requirements for some of these programs are.

So, thankfully or otherwise, my grades are good.
I lift when I can, am a member of a research lab (more work) as well as one club on campus -- they help break the boredom of a life lived in the library. However partying and dating (aside from the odd, unsatisfying one night stand), just doesn't happen. I drink maybe once a month, often less.

FYI: I'm entering my final year of college (so close)...and can't help but feel I will graduate with only a handful of fun memories.

I was wondering if anyone had any experience with this?
How did/do you cope?
