<p>aznschoolboi22, it isn't so much a "condemnation" for doing it, but they're looking for more real stuff that you'd be capable of doing. They like combining your passion with some sort of community service, but focusing on the honors is worse because it tells them that's what you want, rather than helping out humanity just because.</p>
<p>And just a side note, Tulane is largely "liberal" so you're choice in Fox News rather than a more "neutral" news network might be a small subconcious factor in selection.</p>

<p>I don't need it for admission, I've actually already been admitted. But architecture applicants have to provide a portfolio for the Dean's Honor Scholarship. Sadly.</p>
