Hi, I've complete three semesters at FSU (Fall 10, Spring 11, and Summer 11). In the fall, My GPA was 3.9. In the Spring, it slipped to 3.4. For the Summer, it fell to 3.11. My question though is, for both the Spring and Summer when I looked at my grades under comments it said "Dean's List". I thought in order to make Dean's List, one had to get a 3.5. The only other reason that I could think of for making Dean's List is that I still have a 4.0 in the courses for my major, but I didn't even take any courses in my major in the Spring. Hopefully someone can answer my question. Also, does anyone know what the average GPA at FSU is?

The Dean’s list is by term. So yes, you need a 3.5 that term to get Dean’s List. Sometimes, on the unofficial transcript on Secure Apps, it shows as a carryover comment from a prior term when it does not apply. If you get the Dean’s List email, you had a 3.5 for the term. Otherwise, it will not show up on your final transcript for the term unless you had a 3.5 for that term.
