Dean and President's List

Is there an actual list that shows all the student's that have achieved this honor, or is it a personal honor only viewed by those who have achieved a GPA that fits the requirements for the Dean's List and the President's List?

Not sure if there is a public list, but it does show on your transcript. You usually get a letter from the dean, too.
(w00t!! - D2 just made the President’s List for the past semester!! :D)

Congrats! So it is possible to get on the President’s List even if it isn’t a cumulative 4.0 GPA but a 4.0 semester?

Yes.

From the FSU General Bulletin:

Has anyone ever been to the Scholar Showcase for students on the President’s and/or Dean’s List? I would like to know if it’s worthwhile since I have other things to do tonight.

Usually such events have free food…

Yes, p2n, I did notice that;), but is there any other reason to attend? The invitation says that you can meet with deans and honors but I am thinking there will be so many people attendees and not enough time to have much time or conversation with them. And I’m not that desperate for food.

Congrats to my S who made the President’s List and the Dean’s List this semester.

Congratulations, FSUDad! Please feel free to be insufferable for the rest of the day. :)

Nolette, Belatedly - this kind of attendance is always up to you. If you have any designs to secure a nice recommendation from your departmental dean, they have to know you and see you reasonably often to develop an impression. I think it is an significant error to think that simply making good grades is enough to secure competitive positions after the university time. You need to hone your social skills and seek faculty contacts who will become friends and mentors. As an example, though I graduated decades ago I still maintain a close friendship with a (now long retired) faculty member and his family. He has been a tremendous help in negotiating life’s events which always happen.

Oh heck yeah, made the Dean’s List for the third semester (of course, this isn’t my third semester, so it’s not that special :P).

Congrats to everyone else that made the Dean’s List or President’s List! It’s a wonderful accomplishment!

Congratulations, as well Pasbal! Nice work.

You also may wax insufferable for the next 24 hours. ;)

I didn’t get my final fall semester grades yet because I’ve got a hold on my records because I forgot to pay FSU $15 for a replacement FSUID last month. I mailed a check Monday thinking FSU would have payment posted by Thurs before FSU shut down for winter break. Anyone know if financial office will have people depositing checks over holiday? I tried to avoid paying the extra $7.00 “convenience fee” for paying online, but I guess I may end up paying it to get my account opened up right away.

Congrats to everyone making Deans’ List and President’s List. (Didn’t mean to cry on here about my “woes” getting my grades.)

President’s List! Couldn’t have come at a better time either, since I needed these A’s for admission into the Nursing Program!

Just checked my acct. on Blackboard and my $15 payment was posted today as paid. Somebody is still working at FSU on break. Made Dean’s list and I still have the $7.00!

Congratulations to all that achieved distinction this past semester. Motivated, dedicated, and accomplished is a great way to go through life.

Dean’s List!

Congratulations to everyone else that made it, and especially those that made President’s list. Twice now that one class has kept me away from a 4.0.
