dean's scholar in globalization special program?

im considering applying for this program... but i really know nothing about it.
is it better than the elliott school or the honors program??
is it harder to get into?
is it worth writing the extra essay for?

thanks!

I am currently in this program and the best thing about it is that you get to go to chile and peru in your freshmen year and singapor and east timor in your sophmore year....pretty much you live with your program on the mount vernon campus (your program may have between 6-16 students) and you develop a close relationship with your professor/advisor that your indebted to by the program....this will come in handy come time for grad school applications when you need a reference. The worst part of the program is living on the vern which is quite annoying but I guess the free trips outweigh the pain...but sometimes we wonder ...lol...but really its not exactly an honors program and its not comparable to elliot school...it really is a special program that is in itself a unique experience....i guess I would reccommend it if you want to feel academically special without all the stress and restriction of the honors program....plus you will travel before your study abroad year which is pretty amazing...

please ask more questions if you have them....
