Do you mean the JPMorgan Chase Lincoln Douglas Tournament in late May? It's hosted by Rutgers New Brunswick. You compete in a team of 3 (+1 alternate).

If that's what you're referring to, it's hosted by JPMorgan, not NJFL.

did anyone go to the Berkeley Invitational Tournament last weekend (Feb 18-20) ?

Ok ummmmm who here hates next year's Policy topic?

Resolved: The United States federal government should establish a policy substantially increasing the number of persons serving in one or more of the following national service programs: AmeriCorps, Citizen Corps, Senior Corps, Peace Corps, Learn and Serve America, Armed Forces.

Civil liberties was ok this year, but definitely hackneyed. I've debated it like 87432 times already. I loved UN peacekeeping operations last year. But now I have to graduate after this topic. Grr.

I do Student Congress. It's pretty fun. There's a huge variety of topics so that's good. However you don't get in many speeches. For each tournament like 3 or 4 if you're lucky. I'm thinking of doing Policy cuz I did that freshman year and that seemed fun. I couldn't get a partner so that was kind of bad.

I'm an LD dweeb =D aannd I do Congress. I qualified to nationals last year in it but not this year ;(

Anyone going to CFLs?

i do policy, and my school is somewhat known. we're going to the toc later this month.

and civil liberties was a good enough topic, heavily aff biased though. i prefered peacekeeping, though that was aff biased too. the last neg bias topic we had was ocean policy.

I thought peacekeeping was neg biased. I was negative and won all my debate. Then again, that was in the local circuit and ummm most people aren't that great. At all.

I go to a school that is really active on the state level, but not on the national circuit (except NFL nats). Anyway, I'm going to a couple overnight/circuit tournaments this year...either bringing one of my parents or tagging along with another school. Oh, and I do StuCon, USX and impromptu (StuCon on the circuit)

I really want to restart my school's NFL since the founder graduated and the club died. However, I cant get an advisor who is willing to commit weekends to the club. What do you guys think I should do?

Do all of you guys do debate from your school?

What would you suggest someone (like me) who wants to do debate, but their school doesn't offer it (nor is there much interest for it)? Is there any other way to get involved?
