Is it possible to use a Decal course to fulfill a breadth requirement?

According to decal.org:

Do they count towards my major requirements?

No. (Well, very rarely. Check with your adviser.)

So I guess not.

For example, if I take the Decal on how to play the carillon which is Music 98/198, can it fulfill my arts & lit breadth?
On this page: [Degree Requirements-7-Course Breadth Arts & Literature Requirement](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/requirements/breadth7/al.html), it says that any Music class besides 49B, 49C, 50, 50A, 50B, 51, 51A, 51B, 60, 61, 163 can be taken to fulfill the breadth. The Decal seems to fit the requirement but it is only 1 unit and P/NP so I am not sure if that is sufficient to fulfill the breath.

[Degree Requirements-Seven-Course Breadth Requirement](http://ls-advise.berkeley.edu/requirements/breadth7.html) tells you near the bottom “You may not use courses numbered 98, 99, or above 190 for breadth credit.”

Can’t use them for breadths

i would think that would be very doubtful as they are student run and the univesity doesnt fit them to the standards they hold for breadth classes

^ yes, that is also the reason they cannot be taken for a grade and influence GPAs

If I take music 26ac, can that fulfill the AC req and A&L breadth?

^^ yes (10 chars)

what about using decals for upper-div credit (L&S requires 36 UD units to graduate)?

edit: someone asked the same question i did on the second page of this forum, thanks rider! lols, you’re always answering my questions.

yeah (char)
