My son has taken the ACT once and wants to take it one more time - December 13 - for use with regular decision applications. The ACT site says the multiple choice will be available approximately two weeks after, and writing 4 weeks. For early January applications, that seems tight. Is it possible to get the scores in during that time period? Thanks so much.

Check the school websites. They will tell you whether they will accept the December ACT for this round of admissions.

thumper1, I have been looking at the college websites and they say all materials must be in by january 1 or January 5 etc, but they don’t say specifically whether the December 13 ACT will be accepted. I am looking on the deadline page of the websites. Is there some other section I should be looking at?

What schools? Maybe someone else can find this for you.

We looked at Vassar, University of Rochester, Lehigh and Oberlin, to start. Was going to look at some more. They just say everything has to be in by X date, but not if the Dec 13 date will work. Don’t want my son to bother if it’s too late. Thanks.

From the frequently asked questions on the Vassar website. I googled. Vassar, ACT deadline…and this is what I got.

Thank you. I googled the others and didn’t come up with specific information about the test. I’ll keep looking.

Looks like Rochester wants the scores by January 1.

Yes, I saw that - for the December 13 ACT, the multiple choice would be available by January 1 but the writing test might not be (four week delay for the writing test). So not sure if December 13 would be out of the question in this case.

I’d just call and ask.

Looks like Oberlin deadline is Jauary 15.

You know…all of these schools have an office of admissions, and they want to help applicants. Tomorrow morning, give each a call and ask if the December 13 ACT meets the application deadline for regular decision applicants for this year. They should be able to tell you.

Thanks, I’ll do that. I can see all the deadlines, but because of the staggered results, not sure whether he should sign up or not. We’ll call.
