December 2009 SAT Chemistry Test

How was it? Medium-hard in my opinion. Let us wait to discuss the qns.

i thought it was medium. there were 2 questions i was unsure about but thats it, the rest was pretty straight forward.

ya it was ok. what was that rectangle instrument used for?

i thought separating metals but i wasnt sure

i thought separating metals cuz none of the other instruments made sense for that

do you guys know if there’s a good curve for the chem sat II?
I omitted 5 and wasn’t sure on about 10 of them.
I hope to get at least a 700.
Do you recommend cancelling the test then??

And yea i put the square. b.c its a magnet

lol yea its is a magnet :stuck_out_tongue:

i felt da last 10 more easy than da 40-60

lol i need da calculator badly

I did terrible on the Chemistry today, i left way too many blank, i hate not having a calculator and working with not enough time.

The rectangle thing was a magnet, and it was the answer. What did you guys get for the balacing redox reaction question? I took my chemistry classes last year and forgot how to do that.

is that the one asking for the coefficient for SO3 or something like that?

the graph was a straight line graph… there were only 3 TTCEya

Which graph? And I got 3 TTCE’s. I think it was asking for the coefficient of NO2 or something with N.

for the part that asking the instruments, which one was used to separate gases? Was it the one on the far left?

what about the one that gave you the electron configuration for sulfur and asked you which of the following was INCORRECT?
two of the choices were lower ionization energy than Na and 4 unpaired orbitals

the graph of Pressure vs. Temp or am i confusing with physics?

straight line graph was P vs T

im pretty sure gas separation was far right, b/c pipets cant hold gas i dont think

 • were the other 2 magnets? (sand/salt, metals)

and yeah, i gottem all done w/ 1 min to spare, but once i finished the TTCEs, i was like, “o ****, there’s no way im gonna get 50 more questions done” -> way too many questions for no calc

i got a straight line for the graph. and i got the far right for the gases. is that wrong?
and its the 4 unpaired thats incorrect

yeah i also got the far right, the weird apparatus with the jar in the water for the gases one

thought it was alright
too many calculations and no calculator :/

I got far right for the gases, but I do not understand how it was a straight line. Temperature was on the x axis. As temperature increases, pressure increases… right? I got a straight (y=x) line, not y=c type line.

i got barely any ce answers

The pressure and temperature graph was a constant increasing graph because as temperature increases, pressure increases, and the opposite is true.

For the Sulfur one, it’s the one with lower FIRST ionization energy than sodium. Sodium has a higher first ionization energy because it’s closer to an filled sublevel than sulfur is.
