Thoughts? 10char

no bad, it was definitely easier than the barron’s & sparknotes practice tests.

I think there were two questions I wasn’t sure about…are we allowed to discuss yet?

Not sure, I think we have to wait another 2 or 3 hours. I know I only took chem today and there are other kids who were in my testing room still taking them who were planning on taking chem as a 2nd or 3rd test.

Just generally though, at first I looked at the first set and I thought it was really tough. As the test went on though I felt it got easier and I had time to double check and I was able to fix my answers to the first few problems.

can we discuss yet? :D

I don’t see why not :D

shlt was hard…

^ Haha. Your name. Your post. Ironic much? :P

I think it way okay…

Hi
Do you guys know when we’re allowed to discuss because I have a ton of questions

i thought it was hard too…
i think we can discuss now o.o
whatd you guys put for that one that was like:
has both ionic and covalent bonding?
was it the only one with 3 different elements in it? :stuck_out_tongue:
none really seemed like ionic to me, but meh

also…chlorine for conductor?

^ I think HCl is conductor … that is dissociates.

Yeah i wrote HCl for conductor, because it dissociates.
What about NaCl, and the pH of it? And the question that was Which gases can be collected over water? Options: H2, NH3, O2- I picked H2 and O2…but idk…
Yes, the compound with 3 elements was both ionic and covalent bonding, i believe

oh NaCl is put 7 as pH… for the ionic and covalent bonding i put NH3Br?

wait was hcl an option?
i’m talking about the first like 5 or so
i think it was like
this element in one of its forms is a conductor
im not sure though…i mightve misread
^i think youre right about h2/o2
and nacl was 7 :D

yeah, HCl is the conductor.

the pH of NaCl is 7…it’s the salt of NaOH and HCl, both strong.

I picked H2 and O2 as well, not sure if they actually use water displacement for O2 though.

neutral, because it is a salt of strong acid and strong base.
O2 is definitely collected over water. But remember in a previous question they asked what is the gas which when dissolved in water produces a very bad smell? That was NH3 and so NH3 cannot be collected over water since it will dissolve. So I put in H2 and O2.

Both Covalent and Ionic Bonding would be NH4Br because covalent bond between N and four H and ionic between NH4+ and Br-

Hmm okay , thanks guys!
For one of the first ones it asked “Which ones of these in solid form is a good conductor?”
and the options were like Bromine Chlorine Carbon and Sulfur
I put down Carbon but it didn’t seem right

Does anybody know the scoring system for the SATChem? like if raw score is so and so, then you get ___ out of 800? I looked all over the place and in many SATPrep books, but all the scores are so different!

yeah thats the one i’m talking about!!!
i put chlorine.

graphite (allotrope of carbon) is a conductor

i dont think its chlorine i agree with jellyksong, its carbon because of graphite its’ allotrope.
