December 2009 US History Discussion

what did you guys get for the Native Americans in the northwest or something like that?
I put that they were hunting or something like that.
Also what about the Andrew Johnson impeachment question? Wasn’t the answer something like because he went against radical republicans? or was it because he didn’t go along with the reconstruction act?
Also what did you guys put for the differences between Spanish and English colonial methods?
I put that english used joint stock companies.

I dunno how I did on this one: I felt pretty good despite the fact that there was alot of trend questions that I didn’t really completely expect.
700+? I hope so.

I put also the one of joint stock companies
For Johnson I put that he didnt go along with the reconstruction act because, what I guessed is that he was against the republican plan of the certain percentage of southeners to give an oath to the union, because the radicals wanted to pass that, I think.

Also in the map one (1868,1869,1871,1872) It was the years the Confederates were admitted back to the union?

^ ^ ^

Correct.

I took three tests today? This was one the most sketchy for me personally, haha.

I took 3 tests today as well. That US History test was definitely the worst. Some of the questions for me were just… the hours of studying in my AP US History book did not help.

Does anyone know the answer for the republican party’s view of women after the antebellum period?

“Politcal Cartoon - McKinley wanted to expand the US on the basis of past expansion
Painting of the River - Hudson River School
Kansas-Nebraska Act - I think this was Stephen Douglas, although I’m not as sure about this one”
Spanish and English colonial methods - English used joint stock companies.

I also put these as my answers.

Was one of the answers southern whigs…?
And also, which person was most likely to defend the US? Someone from Boston? Or was the answer the North Carolinian guy…

And the question with the I. II. and III. choices…I completely guessed. What was that?
There was also a question on social darwinism vs. laissze fare economics vs. social gospel. It was on the second to last page. What was the answer?

I’m pretty sure it was the Social Gospel. And does anyone know the answer to my other question? I put they wanted them to have more babies in the post war period, but now i’m starting to think it was more about domesticity.

i put domesticity.
how was that one the social gospel? i was so torn on it…

For the I, II, and III, I put I and II, but it was a guess…

I also put Social Gospel since the quote revealed that the wealthy should help the poor.

I got southern Whigs as an answer as well…

I thought I did pretty mediocre on this test, but after hearing the answers, I might have done better than I thought!

how did you guys prepare for this test?

i took ap ush last year. for review i started about a month before, went through the amsco book once and did some review tests on sparknotes

I read Crash Course three times! That is all.

How many do you guys think we can miss/ skip to get 700+?

when you say the republican party’s view of women, don’t you mean republican motherhood?
then the answer was raising kids to have civic virtues.
The answer for the I II III question was all three, I think. I could think of examples for all three.
For the southern whigs question, I can’t remember the question but I can remember setting aside the Whig because the question was talking about something before Jackson.
Also, someone said something about who was most likely to defend america. I think he meant the opposite, who was most likely to be a loyalist. In that case I think the the answer is Anglican priest from New England

that test was killer!

much harder than the two in collegeboards’ official book in my opinion. new york burning state? paintings and art schools? come on.

Has anybody tried doing Sparknotes tests? If so, how does this test compare to them?

Spark Notes tests are definitely easier/less detail oriented.

I thought sparknotes were about the same, which is not good for me. I just used the Princeton Review book, a few other textbooks and sparknotes to revise.

For the southern whigs question, I can’t remember the question but I can remember setting aside the Whig because the question was talking about something before Jackson.

are you sure? none of the other made any sense to me at all…
