750… pretty sure i got 8 omitted 4 wrong

Here’s a tip for anybody taking the Math II later on: Guess C instead of omitting. It really works. Let’s say for example that you are going to omit 7. Even if just 2 are actually C, and 5 are wrong, that is 2 - 1.25 = 0.75. That means a one point increase in your raw score. It works even better if you can cross a couple answer choices off in the problem. Good luck to all!

Screw you guys I made a 660 which was even worse than my 700 initially.

Heck I did better in Physics with a 670 and I barely knew any electricity and nuclear stuff.

@darkaeroga This is Math 2, not SAT Math. A 750 and 800 have a very noticeable difference. Colleges are aware of the generous curve and would prefer to see an 800, so it’s only logical to retake.

I got 640-740 on Barron’s and a 750 on the real thing. :(

@darkaeroga, for SAT II’s that have harsher curves (bio, chem, lit, etc.) a 750+ is considered very good. For Math II, anything below a 790-800 is bad because of the generous curve. A 790 on Math II immediately puts you in the 89th percentile or so.

Haha but my 740 was a big improvement from last may’s 600… dark days

Shouldn’t the answer to the OP’s question be E? The degree of the polynomial indicates how many roots it has, both real AND imaginary. The question states that the function has six REAL roots, but doesn’t say anything about its imaginary roots; the function could have any number of imaginary roots. Because we don’t know how many imaginary roots the function has, we don’t know the total number of roots and, consequently, the polynomial’s degree.

Actually, you’re right, thesmilerable. It would be E, seeing as how the problem specified that the function has six REAL roots. The function could have infinite more nonreal roots.

My mistake.

WOO GOT AN 800 Barron’s is definitely the beat way to prepare for this exam. Just take a bunch of practice tests and analyze them once you’re done.

Barron’s only got me a 750 :(

Bought Dr. Chung’s and retaking on the 25th.
