December 2014 ACT Discussion Thread

@GodsGem322‌ I hope that works out for you!
I’m really hoping to improve my 30. I need higher than that to be competitive to most of the schools I’m applying to.

SOOOOOO are we sharing scores to estimate curves? I don’t know how guessing the curve really works…

Still registered here in San Francisco ughh

@PilotKhyle‌ i think that only really works for people with subsection scores in the 33-36 range, but if you belong to that demographic by all means do it.

Here we go

ONE HOUR REMAINING

@GodsGem322 Why do you want 29 so much?

One hour to go!

@1golfer1‌ merit $$$

@1golfer1‌ I was 10 SAT points away from 8k, and if I get a 29 I get the 8k scholarship instead of the 6k. If I get a 30 I’m eligible to compete for full-ride.

i am really considering just going to bed and waking up in an hour

Any hope in getting scores tonight if I’m still registered?

@GodsGem322 We have similar prediction scores. Best of luck! It would be a miracle if my science was 30+

wait, but its 12:04 on the east coast, so shouldn’t it be sooner?

@gminor‌ Ahh I see! My only past subsection score above a 33 was a 34 in Reading

Last time I got my scores it was in the morning so don’t get your hopes up. I think I got between a 29-31…I just want the wait to be over!

while you guys are all here… I need a genius to answer this probability question. So here it is. If you have a bag of marbles with 18 total marbles (7 red 6 white 5 blue) and choose 4, what are the odds that you choose exactly 3 red given that the first one chosen is red. With no replacements. Ugh my school is impossible. Whoever figures it out gets a perfect score on this test no doubt.

@GodsGem322‌ what college/ scholarship is that for?

30!? Full Ride!? I thought that there was nothing out there until you it a 34 :frowning: That’s why I’ve been aiming so high :/

That’s crazy!! Hopefully you get a 30! I got a full tuition scholarship with a 28 (thanks to my grades), but I am hoping I can do better.
