December SAT International Test Discussion

^I put none too, since it was possible to get $235 without using $10. :)

$100x2+$20+$15, I believe.

@ theskylitup: so did I…

was this Q 8 of the first math section?? :P

^ possibly, as you can probably tell from this thread, my memory for words/concepts is alot better than my memory for numbers.

eta: another math question, How many people are between the 1st and 15th in line

I answered 13.

eta again: Hey!! I reckon we can get a definite on which one the experimental was. Its whatever one wasn’t on the June 2009 CR test. Ok, off to peruse the thread. If anyone’s done it already, can you put us all out of our collective misery and post it? :D

I can’t remeber whether I chose I only or I and III =

I: The 30 numbers contain at least an even number. << this was I, I think… this is trueee for sure…
II: the 30 numbers contain at least a multiple of 5. << this is wrong and I believe this was II…
III: blah blah blah less less than 15… and this is true as well…

so I’m pretty convinced that the correct answer is I and III only…

I looked through the thread…

The caravan WAS there…

AND the one about the books was there.

So Montaigne is experimental?

I answered 13.>> I agree on that

and ur lucky cuz u at least u can remember something!!

a writing MC question:
“what appears to be” wrong?

I answered 13 as well.

FWIW, I did a search in the Jun 2009 CR thread for “Montaigne”, with 0 results.

What was the answer of the weight of the fish??? Was it 36?

caravan,reading,universities were there

So Montaigne is experimental

^ It’s been discussed, and I think the consensus is 54.

Ruby_92, I and III only would be correct if the III option was “None of the integers are less than 15”. However, I only would be correct if the III option was “At least one integer is less than 15”.

Does anyone remember exactly what it said??

I’m pretty sure it was At least. I think all of the options were.

Alt_F4, I agree with you, I think its pretty safe to say that Montaigne was experimental.

Caravan passage

African-American author passage

Commercialisation of education passage

were all on June 2009. No mention of the Montaigne passage anywhere on the old thread. Ladies and gentlemen - can we have an dumroll…

…

tadaaaaa

The section from the french philosopher Montaigne was the experimental - so any possible mistakes you might have made in that section, tis nothing! :D

Hey…but it was not proportinonal…it was proportional to the SQUARE OF it!!! It shouldn’t be 54!!..Please check it!

What did you guys put for this writing question about a city surrounding a castle which use to surround “it”?

I put E, no error - but i wasn’t sure if the “it” was ambiguous or not.

Weight = k * Length^2

Someone clarify this?

That’s strange, they’ve used Montaigne before as an experimental. It was in the December test last year: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/sat-preparation/610573-urgent-anyone-get-passage-michel-de-montaigne-todays-test.html?highlight=Montaigne
I didn’t do the test yesterday but good luck to all who did, particularly any Australians!

Naivete or credulous?

babo90: I think the answer was credulous.

About that writer who was quick to use random things as facts, or summat…

Anyhow, for those who got 2 for the f(x)=f(-3) question, what was your reasoning?

I thought you just looked at the graph for the y-value when x=-3.
