December SAT International Test Discussion

For those of us outside the US who took the test (we had a different one from them).

Saw that the Embargo has been lifted, so here are a few questions:

The scatter diagram that asked for the greatest difference between Judge A and Judge B - was it 1.5?
The last grid in question with the triangle and all the bisecting lines - was the answer 65?
In one of the CR sections the intro was something like "a takeover is underway". Was the intro "urgent" or "reflective"?
Finally, in the passage about caravans, we were asked how the first two sentences of the intro were different. I put "something followed by an anticlimax"

i think when the embargo is removed it is removed for all

YES!! lets discuses it!!! CR was difficult!! I had 4 sections…

Math was easy… but I can’t recall any of the Qs…

YES IT WAS 1.5 YES!!! =D *smiles with glee… err. well thats atleast what i got

the rest i forgot. too long ago LOL.

I said urgent for the CR Q… OMG REFLECTIVE SOUNDS WAY TOO SENSIBLE NOW!!
I can’t remember the judges thing :S was it a grid - in?

I rather not to discuss the CR… -_-

lets discuss Math :D… the the last Q in section 9 ( the 1 that had a length of fish in inches and what it weighs, remember it? ) was the answer a)27 or b)36 or neither :D??

and there was a Q about a square pyramid that wanted its area… was the answer 16??

it was 54
y = 2/3(x) was the function
yes square pyramid s.a was 16

OHH YES. brain blast i put urgent. that was a guess- but i think i ruled it out to be the c.a. somehow.

hmm it may take me a couple of secs to rmr the fish problem LOL.

was the fish problem supposed to be really difficult btw? cause it was the last problem? but i thnk i just made 6 oz/ to whatever lbs it was = 9oz/x, and solved from there…

NOW IM JUST PLAIN SCARED.

Scatter plot was definitely 1.5!!!
And yes the angle was 65 came out by 180-80-35!
I filled in reflective…!!!
Nope the judges one wasn’t a grid in.
For the weight one I don’t remember the answer… but what I do remember is that the constant came out to be 2/3.

Hoping for 800 M and decent enough CR and W!!!
Best of luck to all of you guys! :)

what was the pyramid question? i kinda forgot

guys the last sentence in section ten : “were they to be told” do u remember what was the answer

Oh wait, Which CR one was the experimental according to you guys???
The caravan one?
The guy reading the novels one?
OR some other one???

yay! i got the pyramid one!

maybe this test wasnt so bad after all.

Yup pyramid is 16.
The surface area, of the triangular part : 3X4
and of the base : 4
Therefore total surface area: 12+4=16!!!

btw, for sure we’ll find out tmw bout the experimental one. =D

@bumble: Lets just hope this test doesn’t have a devilishly steep curve, 'cause I personally thought the maths was too easy!

thats my fear =S LOL, i told my friend the exact same thing after we left the test center. im 99% sure the curve is going to be really harsh. i mean, there were practically no mixture probs, or motion [two people go on a train] probs, or any of the really difficult math.

i was pleasantly surprised in the beginning, but i think that just might backfire =[

Wait for the directly proportional question about weight and length, what did people get?

I can’t remember the exact question, but I remember something like.

Weight = k * length, where k is a constant.
I solved for k and got 4.
Then I used the formula weight = 4 * length for the next bit and got the answer from there.

Did we have to convert ounces to lbs?

NOOOO! i didnt convert anything…

k was 2 but I can’t remember the final answer :D
