@FunnyFlamer45 if the average ssat at Andover is a 93% you are within their acceptable range. You will not be admitted or rejected based on an 89%, you can tick ssat box as done. You did well enough. Now is the time to make your essays excellent.
Also, more for everyone, a tip from my junior daughter telling a story about a classmate in math. The classmate whines out loud before every test that she’s going to fail. Then once again as the teacher is handing back the tests. She consistently gets the second highest grade in the class and I’m sure you can guess that everyone is annoyed by her. The kids who score significantly lower don’t like her at all. Learn to be gracious when you have done well and learn what “well” is in this world of high pressure boarding schools.
By the way, guys, did you check out the full score report? It’s actually kind of insightful. It has the number of questions wrong/skipped and also the test error margin. You guys should take a look!
lol @FunnyFlamer45 out here sayin they failed at 89% while i sit here, not retesting, at a solid 86. You did fantastic my guy.
Also @mondaydevil you smart smart person. Congrats on anOther amazing score!
@one1ofeach excellent advice about the SAT to keep in mind for the future.
As for now — we recently reviewed her transcripts for her recommenders so I happen to know her exact grades. She has had one B+ in 2.5 years and the rest A’s (honors and advanced wherever possible) at two different school systems — one very large and well-know district back east and the others a top California district. (My point in bringing up the two districts is the AO’s will certainly know the district back east which will remove any potential doubt about aN unfamiliar California district). My hope is that scores aside, there will be strong evidence that she is academically capable.
@mondaydevil you are killing it and I can’t wait to see where everyone lands! Congratulations!!
hey,
so they released SSAT scores today, and I’m kind of conflicted.
in the November test, my overall was 2202, with verbal at 749, Quantitative at 737, and reading at 701.
However, while my overall for December rose to 2223, my quantitative was only at 713, which is apparently the 69th percentile. (my verbal and reading rose to 785 and 725, whoo!)
So here’s my problem. Do I send in the November test, the December test, or both? I don’t want to get super scored, but I guess I have to.
What are the percentiles? If there isn’t much of a difference between the superscore and the December, you could probably just send the December one in
