Hello Everyone! Just gave my SSAT TEST today.
I think I did well on “Math & Reading Section”.
But, didn’t did that much good on “Verbal Section”.
I’m expecting 1900+ (Inshallah).
What about you guys?
What’s your expectations?

Hey now, you won’t know how you did on the test until you get your results back, so don’t stress too much. Quite honestly, when I took the test for the second time in December, I thought that I had failed miserably, but I’m actually quite proud of my results. If you practiced and studied, I think you’ll do well. Of course, this does seem like a nice place to discuss the January test’s difficulty versus others’, so don’t think this comment is trying to discourage that. Best of luck!
I support your comment brother/sister.
But, I’m freaking out.
I think, I will not able to make up a good score
Freaking out won’t improve your score. If you haven’t submitted your essays yet, work on polishing them to a shine. If you really think you did poorly, see if you can add a less competitive school to your list. But don’t stress out over something you cannot control, like the test you already completed. That will just make you miserable.
I am hearing today from kids who found the Reading section to be more difficult than previous tests. Any thoughts?
I heard the Dec test was very easy compared to October, November, and January…
Kids who took the Dec test only say January was harder. Those who took it in October or November say Jan was about the same?
The “Reading section” freaked me out! It was so so hard! All of the passages were so big! There was a big poem also! But, The “Math Section” was so easy. I think, all of my math’s are correct! The verbal section was also hard! Analogies were hard!
In one word, January’s SSAT exam is the hardest!
A friend’s son took a Flex test a while ago and described the Reading section in a similar way. There was a very long poem. Math was easy. Verbal was easy, but that Reading section was just hard to finish - very long passages. Not something our kids get in their Commom Core classroom. The poem was described as “Ye Olde English”. The kid took the SAT for Duke TIP last year and said the SAT reading was easier. Plus, the test venue had no clock! Bring a watch. :-/
Yep. Girl described it as “thou this” and “thou that.”
DS2 concurs with the overall difficulty of the reading section today with the “Old English Poem” causing the most problems. Verbal was only slightly harder in his mind from October while math was definitely easier.
I didn’t even understand that poem!
There was so spelling mistakes!
Uhh, the SSAT will almost never have spelling mistakes.
Except for mine, there was a typo in the math section lol :-/
