Decency in Dorm Room

lol sadly this reminds me of Gulliver's Travels when the Talking Horses (Houyhnhnms ... lol crazy name) don't understand why humans clothe their wonderful god-given bodies (around those lines and too hard to explain out of the blue lol).

That's why I said "right." Because you are right. Didn't mean to sound sarcastic... confused

My fault.

The ... threw me.

Ah, gotcha. Glad we agree. :)

What's so hard about wearing clothes to bed?

lol heat...at orientation trying to go to sleep was sooo hard because it was ROASTING

I'm gay so this is a touchy topic for me. I feel I will need to tell my roommates that I am gay. I wouldn't want them changing close to me if they feel uncomfortable.

BUT.

They shouldn't feel uncomfortable...if they're going to change close to me, I would not peek. I have immense respect for their privacy and personal space. It's gonna be weird. =/

What if you go commando?

MacTech, sleeping in clothes is so uncomfortable.

My roomie and I just don't look at each other when we are changing, and for underwear/bras we hide behind the closet door. Also, about the underwear thing, maybe I'm just OCD but I change my underwear every morning and every night. Am I the only one who does this?

I don't see the point in changing them both in the morning and at night but whatever.

if youve ever been to a gym locker of bally total fitness n stuff guys walk around naked all the time. no biggie imo

idk, I was on a debate team that travelled extensively in high school, and we all got very comfortable changing in front of eachother. In fact, some of the girls I used to room with on trips would walk around completely naked, for various lengths of time (holding on conversations with other people, listening to music, brushing their hair, etc.). It was not a big deal. Sure it's awkward the first couple times, but you are going to be living together for a year.

Ew...no offense to your school's debate team since I don't know any of y'all, but I sure as hell wouldn't have wanted to have to see any of the girls on our team naked for any length of time. Nudity makes me uncomfortable enough...but ugh.

I wouldn't be comfortable if my roomate was butt naked right there in front of me. I hate to have to coverm eyes or look the other way so I just leave the room and go back when it's all clear. The bathroo is there for a reason.. I think people should just keep their stuff hidden from the world.

and changing underwaer twice a day is no big deal. sometimes i do it if I know I'll be doing alot of hard work that day involving moving around alot.

I'm with 3 athletes so it doesn't matter at all

So I was at this conference thing and there were 3 guys in my room and 4 girls we knew in the connecting room next door. We kept the doors between open pretty much all the time. I pretty much shouted that I was coming out of the shower naked and everybody kinda just kept chilling in the room. It was ok. No shame here :)

I think I'll be ok in college as long as my roomate isn't a total skinaphobe (that's not a word).

there should really be no such thing as roomates. If everyone had his/her own room then we would save alot of time talking about stuff like this.
