Decent SAT, high essay/High ACT, low essay

The writing score of the ACT is below average at most schools I intend to apply to but the composite exceeds that same average by a fair amount. However, the SAT with the higher writing score is just slightly above average at the same schools.

I'm wondering whether its better to send either
A.) SAT - 2010 (CR 660/M 700/W 650) with a 10 essay
or
B.) ACT - 33 (E 31/M 34/R 33/S 34) with a 6 essay
or both?

Thanks for your help!

Just send both, they are both rather good scores, and most universities i’ve seen focus more on CR+M

If you can afford it send both. Otherwise your ACT is >100 pts higher than your SAT. [The ACT | ACT-SAT Concordance | ACT](The ACT Test for Students | ACT)

I can, but is it detrimental to send the SAT? I plan on doing engineering so the I’m not sure if the higher writing score is worth the hundred points.

Thank you both for your responses by the way.

It is not detrimental, both will enforce the other.
