high composite ACT w/low writing. Should I submit an iffy SAT w/high writing?

Hey guys,

my SAT scores are as follows:

SAT:700R, 680M, 800W (2180)
SAT:800R, 680M, 770W (2250)
SAT:700R, 710M, 780W (2190)

I think my SAT scores are somewhat erratic (I jump from 700 to 800 to 700 in CR, but get 680 math twice). Though my writing is consistent, I’m not sure its worth it to send these scores because of the range of the subscores.

I got a 35 on the act (35english, 35 math, 36 reading, 34 science) but a low writing score (7/12), as well as a 33 the month prior (36 English, 33 math, 32 reading, 31 science, with a slightly higher but not great 9/12 writing.)
Clearly, my ACTs are better and I am sending those. But should I send both my sat and act to show that I can write as well? Or will the strange range of subscores and lower scores affect negatively?

Should my decision change depending on whether or not the school superscores?

I’m looking at top UCs and privates/ivies.

Thank you again,

Arsh

IMO - you should submit the 35 ACT. The essay score is hardly used.

Send the 35 ACT and call it a day. If you want to send an SAT as well, send the 2250.

Low scoring on the ACT essay portion is a known issue. If the rest of your application demonstrates your writing ability, I don’t think you have cause to worry.
