<p>I took the SAT twice and have a combined 2220 (750 CR, 700 Math, 770 Writing). I'm wondering whether or not I should take the ACT too. See, my SAT score's pretty decent, and I know I'm not going to take it a third time, but is it good enough to just submit, or should I try and do better on the ACT? I'm applying to some really selective schools (Brown, UChicago, Berkeley, Yale, etc), so not sure whether its worth it or not.</p>

<p>If you take the ACT and don’t do well, you don’t have to send it, so why not (unless you don’t want to waste a few hours on a Saturday morning)?</p>
<p>Those are more than decent SAT’s haha those are stellar. But yeah, I agree with rainbowrose, just take it.</p>
<p>Yes take it. I am sure you will probably score in the 30’s range because your SATs are pretty high! And ACT is very easy compared to the SAT. Just make sure you answer all the questions.

<p>Don’t bother unless you are applying to a lot of midwest schools. Schools in the east take either one, and you have fine scores already. If you are looking at midwest schools, could be a good idea, as they tend to look for an ACT score.</p>
<p>Do it. I had a 2150 SAT, but got 34 ACT.</p>
<p>I got a 2280 SAT, and I’m trying ACT too, although my breakdown isn’t as good as yours (cr/m/w:710/770/800). You really have nothing to lose (except a Saturday morning 
), just remember ACT has a lot more time pressure than SAT, in my opinion.</p>

<p>You need to get the ACT Practice test from the ACT website [ACT:</a> Resources for Education and Workplace Success](<a href=“http://www.act.org%5DACT:”>http://www.act.org) and familiarize yourself with the test if you want scores that eclipse your SAT scores. If you need additional practice, get the official ACT guide. Don’t go in cold or you will be wasting your time.</p>
<p>Take a couple of practice tests at home under timed conditions. If you don’t do well on the practice tests, just sleep in next October.</p>
<p>yeah, i agree. you have the choice of not sending them in so if you’re really serious i would give it a try. your sat scores are really great though.</p>
