Jan. SAT scores. Not terribly disappointed, but I'm definitely retaking for a 2300+. Should I take the ACT? I tried a little, and it seems IMPOSSIBLE (timing, science Qs, timing!) Would some high scorers give me some tips? I feel like I should give the ACT a shot, but I also feel like I'll fail miserably and get way below a 30. I'm a total noob to this test, someone please enlighten me with anything. Thanks much in advance

With that kind of SAT score I don’t think you need to, unless you are going for a specific scholarship that only takes the ACT otherwise you’re in good shape.

Your scores look good to me; if you truly want to take the ACT, have at it. Don’t be upset about the score on it though, your SAT is pretty good!

thanks for the advice guys

Similar situation, try some practice tests; SAT concepts can be easily applied to the ACT.

It seems you are doing well in SAT. The only area you need improvement is CR. If you do get 2300+ in SAT, there is no point to try ACT. Also, there will be a science section in ACT that requires some sort of CR skill too. Nevertheless, if you have already prepared for ACT and got 34+ in practice scores consistently, you may give it a try. If you have not started preparing for ACT or your practice score is below 34, it seems you will have a better chance with SAT1. The only consideration is ACT may waive the requirement of SAT2 for some schools.
