gadad~
yes.. i chose cal
and i was feeling horrible about it at first...i cried the whole weekend and didnt want to go!

but now--i know cal is a beyond awesome school and college will be what i make of it, so im feeling a lot better.
i think that after i get there i'll be wondering why i ever wanted to go to
wellesley at all and ill be happy.. as long as im not failing or anything

plus, i have great friends going and dorming with me, so ill have that support system as well

:] thank you everyone for your input!
(i love this site..)

Christina - "Beyond awesome" is a good description. Since the smaller, more intimate setting has some appeal to you, you might want to look for a way to find a home in a program at Berkeley that will be smaller, a place "where everybody knows your name." They'll offer a number of specialized housing options (International House? theme houses?) in which all the participants share common interests. And since you spent the weekend considering what you might be missing, let me suggest what you may have opted for: Take the mythical $104,000 that you didn't spend at Wellesley and allocate it. Take a few thousand off the top to fund study abroad over the next four years - maybe a couple of trips. You may need a new car upon graduation. And there should be enough left over to cover grad school and make a deposit on a townhouse near the grad school campus - live in one of the rooms and rent the others out to fellow students who'll pay your mortgage. Six years from now you'll have international travel experience, a bachelor's from Berkeley, an almost-new car, a Master's degree and home equity. Yeah, I think you did OK :-) Good luck and congratulations!

gadad--
wow i like your idea~ that sounds WONDERFUL. I just hope things work
out along those lines. anyways..
thank you for allowing me to feel EVEn happier about my decision.
SO many people have been telling me that i should've chosen
wellesley, taken out student loans, etc, etc.. making me feel.. well, bad,
after i had finally started feeling good about cal.
But thanks for that perspective.. =) thanks for approving.
