Deciding against applying for FA...

my parents originally told me to apply for financial aid but have now changed their minds because they no longer think we'll qualify. should should i contact schools that i've applied to and have them change it on my application or leave my apps as they are and just not fill out FAFSA?

Things to consider:
1. If some of your schools are need-blind, then apply for FA. It's worth a shot, at no loss to you(other than an hour to fill out the FAFSA). Even if they only give you $1k a year, it's better than nothing!

Don't be so sure you don't qualify for FA. A lot of schools(Harvard, Yale, Princeton etc.) all are making significant FA for people with incomes up to $180k, so even if your FAFSA says you can't get FA, you may be eligible, depending on where you are applying.

If you REALLY don't want to apply for FA, then just call up the colleges and let them know. They won't be happy if you tell them you're applying for FA and then just don't send in the FAFSA.
