Hello, this is my first time posting on CC, but I just had a question that I would really appreciate anyone sharing their thoughts on.

I am a senior in high school--just about to graduate--and I have been admitted to both my state school, University of Maryland College Park, and my dream school, George Washington University. UMD has not offered me any money, whereas I have received a scholarship of $30,000 from GWU. However, UMD is still the significantly cheaper option (cost of attendance being at about $23k per year, while for GWU it sits somewhere at $32k per year).

Because of this, I am struggling to decide which school I would like to attend. My family is not particularly wealthy--the $32k would be somewhat affordable, but it'd be a stretch, especially considering the fact that I do plan on attending medical school. I've done some research on the salaries physicians earn, and I'm (cautiously) confident that eventually I could pay off my student loans, but at this point in time it's no guarantee.

Obviously GWU is the better school, but UMD is also a very good college, and it's less expensive. Any thoughts?
