Deciding between two teachers for recs

I'm deciding which of two teachers should write a recommendation letter... One teacher is my 11th grade spanish teacher. I did well on his tests/quizzes (only one grade below a 90, that was an 85) and I got a 99 on his final... However, on one of my oral presentation comments, he wrote that I should talk more in his class because the presentation was good, and once wrote "rarely participates in class" on a report card...

The other teacher is my 11th grade history teacher. I did participate in her class more than any other class (though she gave me Bs in participation), though she never commented about my participation on report cards or progress reports... I got an A in her class, but my tests and essays sometimes (especially essays) weren't in the A range. I made up with extra credit and her "busywork" assignments which were worth a lot... She also wrote my harvard summer school recommendation and I got in...

who should I pick?

bump..........

I say take the History teacher. Though you may not have gotten the top grades in that class, I think that since you participated more, the teacher knows you more, and that will show in your rec.

Whoever you feel knows you best as a person rather than a score.
