deciding essays!

For the Yale essay in the supplement, I have two possible choices of which essay to use:
1) An essay about my musical experiences and how I've grown as a musician (that sounds kind of boring, but its actually fairly interesting)
2) An essay about my interest in environmental economics and my future ambitions in that field.

Both topics are extremely important to me! Any comments on which might be better to use would be GREATLY appreciated. thanks so much!

IMHO:

Which one allows the reader to arrive at the adjectives that describe you most accurately?

Look at each paragraph and pretend someone else wrote it. What words would you use to describe the writer, depending solely on what is in that paragraph?

Whichever essay illustrates the most about you ("shows not tells", of course) and less about the thing you love is the right one.

i think the first wil "show who you are" better
